Owner, CEO, CFO, Pack Leader
What's the most inspiring part of your job? My team for sure but also all of our amazing clients both human and dog. The endless support over the years has truly been life changing.
When I'm not walking dogs, I am spending time with my 6 year old son Lucius , my partner Jason and/or kayaking and hiking around Ontario.
My favourite trail in Hamilton is Smokey Hollow because not only is it a physical challenge but it runs along a beautiful creek and features an amazing waterfall.
Favourite dog breed - I don’t like to play favourites but I have a soft spot for livestock guardian breeds. My own dog, Stevie Nicks, is a Great Pryrenees/Great Dane mutt.
One thing on my bucket list is to Kayak the Fjords in Norway.
Senior Pack Leader - Full Time
The most inspiring part of this job is watching the dogs build trust over time - both with me and within the pack. I feel so honoured when a dog starts to look to me for direction or shows me a side of their personality they normally don’t express to people outside their own family. I’ve developed some really deep relationships with these dogs (and their families!) and it’s such a privilege. It’s also amazing to watch the dogs come together as a pack. The level of cooperation and trust they can develop with one-another is beautiful and I love that I get to watch it happen.
When I'm not walking dogs, I am probably hanging out with my own dogs (and wife), taking road trips (or day trips - especially to new places), running, or doing something creative like writing, knitting or photography. I also spend what’s probably a weird amount of time reading up on things in my academic areas of study (neuroscience, psychology, theology) for someone who’s been out of school for years and works with dogs.
The best piece of advice I've ever been given is: There are a few, but I think they go well together. Trust yourself, roll with the punches, and work with what you’ve got. It’s okay if you have to get creative or do things differently.
Pack Leader
The best piece of advice I've ever been given is that dogs can sense a good person when they see one, so trust their judgment.
If we held a team talent show, I’d wow everyone by hanging upside down and rapping “in da club” by 50 cent (provided there are monkey bars).
When I'm not walking dogs, I am working on my PhD in theoretical physics.
Favourite dog breed is any wild mutt, extra points if there’s a sprinkle of heeler.
Pack Leader
What's the most inspiring part of your job? I love seeing the reserved dogs come around and become part of the pack. They seem so proud and I don’t know if they realize how proud I am of them.
My ideal Sunday is a big sleep in, something delicious to eat and endless coffee. My ideal Sunday is a big sleep in, something delicious to eat and endless coffee.
My favourite trails in Hamilton are the spooky forests. Any trail on a foggy day fills me with joy, but Sulphur Springs is my favourite.
When I'm not walking dogs, I am being a Mom of two girls (Lyla and Charlie) and two hounds (Beau and Aya).I also work in advertising as a food stylist and recipe developer. and I am a culinary educator at George Brown College.
Pack Leader
If I won the lottery tomorrow, I'd start a wildlife rescue and spend my days with birds, skunks, opossums, raccoons...you name it. And, you know, keep working here.
The most inspiring part of my job is seeing the level of teamwork that goes on behind the scenes, and how every team member gets to know all the dogs as if they were their own.
When I'm not walking dogs, I am rushing off to class (one more semester of law school to go!), writing my Masters thesis, trying new board games and escape rooms with my partner, or spending time at home with my dog Winston and my two budgies, Atticus and Elliott.
